Car group tests. Ford Kuga vs Vauxhall Grandland: a mid-size SUV skirmish The hybrid powertrain, with the Kuga’s raised driving position and good visibility, makes it very easy to drive in town.
Very Good Car - Can't Really Fault It I bought my Ford Kuga 2016 Diesel brand new in 2016 from Peter Warren Ford. All my services have been done through the dealership, and I can honestly say, its been very good. I've done 109,000km on it, and it does a fairly healthy mix of freeway, and driving around in the suburbs.
The Kuga is related to the popular Ford Focus, so it shares many of that car’s positive traits, such as the enjoyable handling around corners and comfortable ride. It’s one of the best family SUVs to drive, yet it doesn’t sacrifice practicality or comfort in pursuit of that. It’s good value too, as there’s plenty of standard equipment.
The brakes are good. The steering is a bit numb but accurate, and it’s quiet. But then you realise something really quite unexpected, because this Kuga really does handle well. And not in the ‘for a PHEV SUV’ manner, but properly. It may only be front-wheel drive, but this tall Ford is comfy but flat, quick and curiously competent.
If you could charge the PHEV Kuga using the Ford Pass app on off-peak electricity at let's say 10p per kWh, then your first 30 miles every day will cost £1.44, which is astoundingly good compared
Good: That Excellent EV Range. The Kuga’s excellent 37-39-mile WLTP (37 miles/63 km EPA) EV rating is one of the biggest reasons you might buy the Ford PHEV over one of its rivals, and this car Hr0HeSV.
