Xatzimi. •. IIRC, the Beatles sat in on mixing to give opinions a lot more for mono, and left stereo up to George Martin. Which is a reason many people prefer the mono versions. At any rate, the album wasn't necessarily designed (by the Beatles themselves) for Stereo, and definitely the White Album's mono mix is better.
What I like the most about it is the crazy extra sounds in the Sgt. Pepper reprise, but what I dislike the most comes a few seconds earlier, the more awkward (to me) chicken clucking transition from Good Morning, Good Morning to the reprise. Pepper has been on my list of albums to buy for a while, but I noticed that it had been out of stock on Amazon for a while. I checked The Beatles website and could not find that item in the store. In fact, the only Sgt. Pepper LP I could find was the anniversary remix.
